OddsJam is a U.S.-based sports betting startup focused on helping bettors gain an edge using real-time odds, tools, and insights. The value proposition is simple: give sports bettors real, data-driven ways to beat the books.
Challenges
The Challenge: Zero SEO Foundation in a Hyper-Competitive Niche
OddsJam’s website had just launched when I joined. There was no SEO strategy, no keyword research, no technical optimization, and no structured content.
They had big goals: rank for high-competition terms like NFL odds, NBA moneylines, and sports betting predictions, and do it quickly. This meant starting from scratch:
- The site was not SEO-ready: no schema, no metadata, no internal links, no crawl optimization
- There were no keyword maps, no page-level plans, no SEO content
- There was no editorial team, no workflow, and no quality control process
- We needed both evergreen traffic (SEO pages) and time-sensitive news content
- And we were competing with massive sites like ESPN, DraftKings, Action Network, and more
My Approach: From Zero to Scalable SEO Engine
Site Architecture & Keyword Mapping
- Built full site architecture: product pages, league hubs, long-tail, glossary.
- Mapped keywords, URL structure & internal linking for every template.
- Created metadata templates + crawl-friendly hierarchy.
Technical SEO Fixes
- Fixed 50+ technical issues (titles, H1s, duplicates, speed, mobile).
- Repaired broken links, orphan pages, sitemap & robots.
